Novacenter presented a new study

The leading specialist of the Novacenter, Vladislava K., presented a study on the topic: "Application of methods of processing and analyzing satellite images to identify phytoplankton in open and closed waters."

The report was presented at the conference "Spatial Data: Science and Technology", which was held on the basis of MIIGAiK.

Using the IMAGE MEDIA CENTER platform, it was possible to obtain accurate data on the distribution of phytoplankton in different water zones thanks to automated analysis of multispectral satellite images, conducting a spectral assessment of the water surface and identifying areas with a high content of chlorophyll A. In addition, it was possible to visualize changes in the "blooming" of water depending on the time of year, create geographically linked maps of the ecological state of reservoirs and reduce data processing time by 3-5 times compared with traditional methods.
