The American aerospace company Blue Origin, founded by Jeff Bezos, has successfully launched a New Shepard rocket with an all-female crew into space.

The flight, dubbed NS-31, took place on April 14, 2025, with reporter Lauren Sanchez, singer Katy Perry, activist Amanda Nguyen, TV presenter Gayle King, former NASA engineer Aisha Bowe and film producer Keriann Flynn on board.

The rocket lifted off from the launch pad in West Texas at 8:30 a.m. After three minutes of flight, the capsule with the crew separated from the launch vehicle and continued to enter outer space. According to The Verge portal, New Shepard overcame an altitude of 100 km, officially reaching the edge of space. This flight was the 31st for the rocket and lasted 10-12 minutes.

It is noteworthy that this flight is the first with an all—female crew since 1963, since the flight of the Soviet cosmonaut and the first woman in space, Valentina Tereshkova.
