NASA has revealed a "cluster Christmas tree"
26 декабря 2024
This star cluster NGC 2264 in the Milky Way galaxy in the constellation of the Unicorn is located 2,500 light-years from Earth.
The age of the stars in the star cluster, known as the "cosmic Christmas tree," ranges from 1 to 5 million years, which is much younger than the age of the Sun, which is about 5 billion years old.
To create the image, data from the NASA observatory in Alabama and optical images taken from the astrophotographer's telescope from Arizona were used.
