The State policy of the Russian Federation in the field of protection of the population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies is one of the most important tasks of the state policy of the Russian Federation and is part of the system of public administration in the field of national security of the Russian Federation.
One of the objectives of this policy is the annual improvement of methods, means and methods of carrying out activities aimed at increasing the level of protection of the population from the dangers arising from emergencies, fires and accidents on water bodies.
In this regard, in 2020, specialists of operational duty shifts were trained on the practical application of remote sensing. In the period from June to September 2020, specialists of the operational duty shift of the Crisis Management Center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) were trained in remote sensing data processing and their practical application. At the same time, remote sensing data were received on a mobile receiving and transmitting complex from Canopus-V spacecraft and foreign spacecraft.
The training was conducted on a hardware and software module using the Image Media Center software developed by the Center for Innovative Technologies company in three stages: theoretical classes, practical classes and taking credits based on the results of training.
